COVID-19 Membership Update and Resource Links

Tuesday, April 07, 2020 12:48 PM | Mineola Chamber of Commerce (Administrator)

The emergence of COVID-10 has created a lot of changes to our country. We have witnessed declarations of state and national emergencies, international travel restrictions, the cancellation of events, local cases are on the rise, and a sudden and widespread emphasis on working from home to slow the spread of this harmful new virus.

While the office is closed to the public myself and the board are still available by phone or email. We are encouraging all members to use the CDC recommendations and stay home when possible.

The Mineola Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is committed to working with our members during this time of business disruption. We are calling and emailing our members to see if their businesses have any changes or to see if there is anything we can do for them. We welcome your feedback through calls and emails as to how we can be of assistance. Please know that we are committed to resources, responsiveness, and flexibility during this time. We know that this situation will cause financial stress to many small businesses and we want to be your partner through this time. Further, we encourage you to please shop locally during this time. We are stronger together!

Tax Information

The IRS has suspended the April 15 deadline for filing 2019 tax returns, for paying

2019 taxes, and for making the first 2020 estimated payment. This means you do

not need to do anything. You may now act as though July 15 is the same as

April 15 has been. If you choose this, then we will look forward to seeing you

between late-April and mid-July. Contact your tax professional for more details.
